An impressive crop of new talent go forward to the public vote in the ReggaeSpace Seed Awards 2012. Representing The Caribbean, Canada, the UK, France, the USA and Sweden, 6 Female and 6 Male artists remain out of 70 entrants.

A 4 week voting period has commenced and closes on 16th March 2012. Queen Easy, Co-Manager at ReggaeSpace said, "We would like to thank all the artists that have entered this year's Award. We are very pleased with the quality of the finalists. To be quite honest, they clearly put some more established artists into the shade."

At a time when numerous competitions and awards seek to recognise and reward the best among established artists, it is refreshing to see ReggaeSpace Online Radio focused on identifying the world's best new talent. The process involved each artist submitting a single track. The Managers at ReggaeSpace compiled a Long List of artists who were invited to complete a song writing task for an independent Judging Panel to consider in addition to their submitted track.

The international panel of Judges was made up of established and experienced artists whose individual scores were combined to identify the finalists. Now any member of the public can vote once a day with the Award winners being announced at a special event taking place in Hamburg, Germany on 30th March and broadcast live on ReggaeSpace.com

"Its in the hands of the voters now", said Co-Manager Yendis. "The public will decide who wins the Award and benefits from a package of opportunities that will help to kick-start their careers."

The package consists of opportunities to be included on riddim CDs produced by Gold Cup Records, Russcuttaz Productions, Everblazzing Productions, Born Free Records and Lyvestone Records. They will also benefit from the publicist services of Promotance.
